These packages provide a suite of cover that will protect all the key property and general liability risks.  This may include property insurance for buildings or tenant’s improvements, contents and medical equipment/devices, stock (including cover for drugs and vaccines), computers, laptops and other items of IT, both at the premises and portable equipment. 

Core elements of the package includes legal liabilities, such as, compulsory employers liability insurance as well as public liability for indemnity against claims from clients or members of the public for injury or damage to property, business interruption, money, good in transit, glass and signage, personal accident and legal expenses. Separate policies are available, for example, Professional IndemnityMedical MalpracticeDirectors’ and Officers’ Liability.

When Do I Notify My Insurer of a Claim?

All policies will have a clause or condition in the wording which requires their policyholders to notify them of any claim, circumstance, breach, investigation, inquiry or incident as soon as possible and, in any event within a certain time limit, say within 30 days of receipt in writing to the insurer.

Do I need Products Liability cover for my salon business?

If you are selling or supplying any products to your clients/patients, then yes, we recommend you have Products Liability Insurance for your business.  This cover is not always provided under a Salon or Retail Package Policy, so you will need to check the exclusions and limitations of cover carefully.  Many insurers feel that this cover is better provided under a Medical Malpractice Insurance Policy and therefore, exclude this liability cover under a Retail or Salon package for certain professions, such as, aestheticians, beauticians, tattooists, piercers,  Please contact us for more information.
